THE JILLY CROCHET HAT AND SCARF SET

I wish I had written the instructions for this beautiful set I put together using several pattern to get this elegant look.

This was also a special order that someone had asked me to make them a set, any design I wanted to surprise them with. It will stay a surprise pattern because unfortunately I cant remember what patterns I used to achieve this. I do know I used 2 strands of Red Hearts Boutique yarn!

TRIANGLE CROCHET SCARF

We all love the many scarf designs that have come out over the past two years. Scarfs are the new trend and the bigger the scarf the better. This one I made from a pattern I found on Etsy, is sure to keep you warm. The pattern was created by "Sincerely Pam" and the pattern name is "Shelby Triangle Cowl"

This was a special order that I made and she just loved it. I bet this would be perfect with white tassels also.

THREE TONE CROCHET SCARF SET

This season I created several crochet scarf and hat sets. This one was a special order. I love the white, gray and black together, it is very pretty.

The scarf is a simple V stitch pattern. Sorry I don't have the pattern as it was freehand made

The at was crocheted also using the v stitch to create the hat with the rim being a back-post stitch that was finished off with a scallop edging.

CROCHET BULKY ROPE SCARF

Arm KNitting has become extremely popular. However, I could never get the concept of it or learn how to achieve this beautiful look. I did find a great crochet pattern on Etsy by Kay Crochet Patterns. The pattern is called Crochet Bulky Rope Scarf

This pattern can be made with any type of bulky yarn. It works up very quick and is easy to assemble for whatever length you would like your scarf to be.

PUFFY COMFY COZY SLIPPERS

SLIPPERS, SLIPPERS, SLIPPERS! Everyone loves slippers. My hubby bought me a  new type of yarn this Christmas that I had never used. I had seen it, but never knew what to make with the yarn so I never bought it myself. When I open the Bernat Blanket yarn as one of my gifts this year, I was pleasantly surprised at what I could make. I just knew I had to make a pair of slippers with this comfy and soft yarn. So off to Pinterest I went. I found this amazing pin that was just perfect for making my slippers over at Owl Be Yarned

Off to work I went. Once I created my first pair and saw how comfy they were I purchased as many colors in this yarn to make several gifts for all my family and friends.

The above picture is for my 3 year old nephew.

I used several different hook sizes to achieve several different slipper sizes. The set below is a mommy and me set that was a special order I had made.

My slippers have become so popular that I am now selling them. I created my own packaging for when I sell my slippers or even just give them as gifts. It looks finished and I think presentation is everything.

CROCHET INFINITY TWO TONE SCARF AND HEAD WARMER

I love grays and blacks together and just knew what I was going to created with the yarn I had purchased from Joann Fabrics. I wanted to create a set that also included boot cuffs. Once the set was completed I had just the perfect person that I would be giving this set to.

My Sister Beth was very happy to receive this set as a birthday gift.

Cluster Stitch Crochet Hat & Scarf set

I was asked to make a crochet hat set for a friends daughter. I wanted to do one I have not worked on yet and one with pinks and purples. She also loved the color grey.

I must say these are my favorite sets I have made thus far.

MISS DOWNTOWN ABBY HAT III

I designed a new Miss Downtown Abby III hat using a single 4 ply ww.

had several request to please see if I can convert my original bulky yarn Miss Downtown Abby hat to a single strand of 4 ply, for a spring and summer wear. With several trials and errors, I finally created this one.

I sewed the button on the back of the flower so it can be on or off the hat.

BABY CROCHET PINAFORE PANTS SET

This set is so adorable. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in pink and black.

The pattern is a free pattern that can be downloaded by signing up for a free Just Crochet subscription. When you go to the sight a pop up box will show up with this pattern. Just fill out the information and you will get the pattern for free.

CROCHET MINNIE MOUSE PHOTO PROP OUTFIT

Disney characters are very popular to make for photo props. I wanted to find one that was really frilly on the skirt and had the bloomers attached. I could not locate a complete outfit for what I wanted. I began to do just a search on crocheted baby skirts and came upon this adorable skirt pattern. I use Caron Simply Soft for a comfy feel.

I used an I-hook for the skirt to make it bigger than a newborns size

The hat pattern is from "Repeat Crafter Me"

I added a scallop edge working in only the front loop with white as follows:

Ch1, sc in same as joining, skip next stitch, *6 hdc in next stitch, skip next stitch, sc in next stitch, *Repeat to end. Finish off.

The bow is from Stitch II, it is the boutique bow, which is a free pattern.

PINAFORE RED AND PINK CROCHET DRESS

My Niece will  be having her little girl any day now. I have been crocheting like a mad women for the new little bundle of joy Sophia Dawn.

The dress and bloomers pattern I used can be purchased on Etsy at "HooksandHeals" shop. I didn't make this one as long as the pattern called for. I wanted it to be a little summer dress so that the bloomers could be seen. This is one of my favorite patterns to use. I used soft yarn "Caron Simply soft.

The crochet shell headband is a free pattern and can be found at "My Merry Messy Life"

I typically don't use patterns for flowers as they are very easy to make in any style once you know the basics.

NEWBORN HATS

This is one of my favorite patterns to make. It whips up pretty fast.

My favorite yarn to use with this is Deborah Norville's Chunky Weight.

This pattern is pretty close to my own pattern for the my "Miss Downtown Abby hat" I wrote up using half double crochet stitches. This one uses double crochet stitches. I have had several request to please do up instructions for smaller sizes in my "Downtown Abby Hat". So you can imagine how pleased I was to find this site with the smaller hat sizes that matches my own.

The butterfly instructions can be found at Fine Craft Guild HERE. I used a J hook for mine.

The pattern can be found at "Repeat me Crafter". (she has lots of great crochet instructions)

HAT PATTERN HERE

Be creative and embellish your designs with different flowers and trim color to match the flowers.

I love putting a big flower on small hats

This set was made for two newborn twins, for a photo shoot, along with the first set of hats with the butterfly in this post. For this I held two strings of Red Hearts 4 ply yarn.

I was asked to make a Mommy and Me set for a friend. I made one of my "Downtown Abby Hats" and the pattern from Repeat Crafter Me to make a toddler size. I used 2 strings held together of Red Heart's 4 ply yarn. I crochet very tightly so you will want to play around with hook sizes.

NEW BORN CROCHET FIREMAN SET

I love making any and all little crochet sets for newborns. This little fireman set was a special order for a brand new baby that was born this December. His daddy is a firefighter and they wanted a special little outfit for their photo shoot.

I was tickled pink to be asked to make this set. Now I cant wait to see the photo shoot!

I purchased the pattern on "Etsy" designed by Caryns Yarn Basket

CROCHET SHELL HAT AND INFINITY SCARF

I love making hat and infinity scarf sets for all my family and friends. I have been working with two colors to create the two toned scarfs. This can be accomplished with just about any scarf pattern.

This scarf and hat pattern are not mine.

The hat pattern can be found over at "Grow Creative" designed by Elise

The scarf pattern can be found over at "Ravelry" designed by Nancy P

This can be crochet in so many color combinations that all you friends and family would just love to have.

ROSE COWL

This pattern is simple beautiful. When this is worked up in the softest yarn it is simply stunning. I love how she added the two roses, as we all know I love adding crocheted flowers to all my projects. I came across this pattern on pinterest and knew I had to make it.

The pattern was created by "Whisper Twister" at Etsy. Pattern can be purchased HERE.

I made one simple change to the rose that it is not sewn on. I have sewn safety pins to the back of the roses so that they can be placed anywhere on the cowl. You can where one or two roses.

This works up best in a soft yarn. I used "Red Hearts Botique Unforgettable" yarn.

TWO TONE INFINITY SCARF

Can you say "A Touch of Vintage".

I love how this came out.

I made my "Miss DownTown Abby" Hat and this matching scarf as a gift for my mother for Christmas.

You can get the "Miss DownTown Abby" pattern HERE

The scarf pattern is below

The scarf is also done up in two colors

I used Red Hearts "Burgundy" and "Buff"

CREATE OUR OWN CROCHET PACKAGING

I just love to crochet and giving my creations away, but I always felt it was missing a finishing touch.

I figured it out this year. I needed to create a package to wrap all my finished creations in. I went to work in Microsoft Word and/or Powerpoint.

After I was done designing, I was extremely pleased with the finished look. I have created several packaging styles, yet very similar, for all my creations. I can also edit each word document for what creation I need labels for.

This one is a box I made from cardstock to fit a hat and scarf set or just a hat.

The next one is for boot cuffs

I also created packaging for my little dish scrubbies.

NET INFINITY SCARF WITH ROSE

I just love this pattern by "Kate Dixon" that you can find on Ravelry called the Net Scowl. It is thick like a cowl, but long like a scarf.

PATTERN LINK

This is such a beautiful design than can be adapted for any length or width.

I have adapted the pattern to have a thinner width and not so long.

I also used "Rainbow Boucle by Pearl Essence" It is a medium weight yarn that is soft and cuddle, and works up very fast.

MY ADAPTION
I used a J-Hook
Chain 22
worked up 40 rows
Follow her pattern

I also added a finishing touch with a matching crochet rose (the rose pattern is not my pattern) I sewed a safety pin (or you can use a small alligator hairclip) so that it can be position on the scarf anywhere as seen in the pictures below.

There are several rose patterns on the internet. I have listed some below
