I was all the mall and saw a young lady wearing the most adorable hat, I loved it so much I even asked here where she got it. When she told me she got it at a craft fair, I just knew I could make one. So off to the stores I went in search of the yarn.
The yarn is homespun yarn by Lion Brand. It is a very soft bulky yarn that works any hat up fast.
I played around with the pattern and flower for a bit until it came out just the way I saw it on the young lady.

Rnd 7 - 14) ch 1, dc in same as joining and ch 1,
dc in each stitch around. (48)
To lengthen your hat just add more
rounds.
If you are using the "Super Bulky" then
you would use crochet hook M and work pattern to round 5, skipping round 6,
continue onto rounds 7, you will repeat rnd 7 until you get the desired length
you want.
For the one above I still had 14 rows,
however the 6th rnd was replaced by the 7th round instructions.

ReplyDeleteI think my sister would look good in this hat. How much yarn do I need to purchase? Would one skein do the trick?
ReplyDeleteOne skein or more than enough.
