My goal for this year is to make 30 of these baby blankets by November 1st for a local charity. I am also planning on making newborn hats to match.
I added the flower to give it a little touch of elegance.
This is a very simple pattern to follow, see below for the pattern instructions if you would like to make your own.
Add any embellishment you want to give it that extra pop.
PATTERN
I always start my circles with a magic circle. you can chain 2 and join to form a circle if you do not know what a magic circle is.
Magic circle tutorial can be found on YouTube. Just do a search
Rnd 1) chain 3, 2 dc in circle, chain 2, 3 dc in circle, chain 2, 3 dc in circle, chain 2, 3 dc in circle, chain 2, join to top of first chain 3, slip stitch in next two dc and chain 2 space.
Rnd 2) Chain 3, 2 dc in chain two space, chain 2, 3 dc in same chain 2 space, 3 dc in next space, 3 dc in chain two space, chain 2, 3 dc in same chain 2 space, 3 dc in next space, 3 dc in chain two space, chain 2, 3 dc in same chain 2 space, 3 dc in next space, 3 dc in chain two space, chain 2, 3 dc in same chain 2 space, 3 dc in same chain 2 space, join with a slip stitch to top of chain 3,slip stitch in next two dc and chain 2 space.
Rnd 3-23) you will continue the pattern working 3 dc, chain 2, 3 dc in each corner chain 2 space and 3dc in each space around. This will continue to increase your blanket size.
The blanket when done should measure around 29-34 inches for a newborn size. If you want it bigger just keep crocheting rounds until you get the desired size you want.
Love your hats, so cute.
